It is the philosophy of our child development centre that children respond best to adults when a solid and trusting relationship is established. This is achieved by showing genuine interest and warmth, and by seeing the children and their feelings as important and worthy of respect. Children respond best when adults are supportive and understanding of them and know that they can count on the adult to help them gain control of their own world.
Our focus is to provide a stimulating, educational experience which promotes social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our objective is to have happy, healthy children motivated in learning and well prepared for the start of grade school.
Our staff is dedicated to the families we serve!
Established in August of 1988 as a nonprofit centre providing early learning and child development, Westpark Early Learning & Child Development provides a high quality curriculum program with a low child-to-teacher ratio. Supervisor Sylvie Vieira has more than 25 years of experience and is a founding director, while Assistant Supervisor Micheline Henri-Daze who is also a director, has 21 years of experience and has been with us since 1990. Our centre has an operating agreement with the Region of Peel Children’s Services in which we do accept children receiving subsidy from the region, and we also provide financial assistance to parents with two or more children.
